Sub-Bottom Profiler

ABOUT THE COURSE

This specialist module provides a detailed introduction to sub-bottom profiler (SBP) systems and their application in high-resolution geophysical seabed surveying. Participants learn how to install, calibrate, and operate SBP systems, as well as how to interpret data for sediment and geological analysis. The course covers acoustic principles, survey planning, and acquisition parameters for both shallow and deep-water environments. Through case studies and practical examples, participants develop the skills to identify subsurface layers and integrate SBP results with other geophysical survey data.

Contents

  • Fundamentals of sub-bottom profiling and acoustic principles
